About Us
Colin Gervaise Brazier
Specialist Motor Broker
Colin ‘Gerve’ started his career in 1960 in Guernsey at a local timber merchant firm, progressing very quickly through the company before resigning to set up B&Q with Richard Block and David Quayle, where he orchestrated the floatation and trade sale to Woolworths Group. Gerve then bought Intervision Plc, restructuring it into Cityvision Plc before forming the Ritz Video chain which was sold to Blockbuster. With the 1980’s approaching, Gerve organised the takeover of Baldwin Plc, transforming the company from a concrete manufacturer into a leisure group. The obsession with all levels and types of business was very clear. Continuing in the leisure and hospitality sector, Gerve took over the Chairmanship of Regal Hotel Group, overseeing the eventual listing on the AIM market, in addition to holding various other Directorships during that period.
Shortly after Gerve began to exercise his love affair with the motor trade, having always held cars close to his heart.
In the 1990’s he spent 5 years operating a large motor franchise in his home of Guernsey before being approached by a friend about taking a specific role in his Channel Island Motor Group, a role which lasted 10 years. Now appreciating the day to day detail of large business was not what he wanted, Strood Morgan provided the perfect next step, utilising his extensive list of contacts including classic car funds, International manufacturers, high profile car collectors and traders.
